About the role
Gain practical exposure to professional IT delivery in a supervised environment. Depending on placement eligibility and project needs, activities may cover web development, software testing, technical support, data handling, documentation, cybersecurity awareness and team delivery practices. Eligible student placements may contribute to live projects under supervision. Professional work-shadowing is observational and does not involve productive work. Learning objectives, confidentiality, data protection and appropriate project access will be agreed before the placement starts.
Requirements
Open to students enrolled on a UK-based further or higher education course where the placement is a required part of the course and lasts no more than one year. A letter or placement agreement from the education provider is required. IT professionals may apply for limited observational work-shadowing. Applicants must already have valid UK immigration permission that allows the proposed activity. Useful skills or certificates in computing, software development, cloud platforms, networking, cybersecurity, data or technical support are an advantage.
Working hours
Flexible placement schedule agreed with the education provider or host team. Duration depends on the approved placement or work-shadowing plan.
Sponsorship information
This placement does not include visa sponsorship. Strong performance may lead to consideration for a separate paid vacancy, but no job or sponsorship is promised. Any future sponsorship would require an eligible paid role, a licensed sponsor, the applicable salary and skill requirements, and a separate assessment under the immigration rules in force at that time.
